Medicine
Physician-led assessment, nursing, medication review and medically supervised detoxification when it is needed.
Mauritius · Private residential clinic
Private, physician-led residential care for addiction, mental health and burnout. Highly personalised. International. A serious clinical stay, not a luxury rehab brochure.
What we treatPathways
You do not need a perfect diagnosis before you speak with us. These are starting points, not boxes to fit into.
01
Alcohol, drugs, prescription medicines, gambling and other behavioural patterns, including when mental health is part of the same picture.
Explore addiction care02
Depression, anxiety, trauma and sleep, treated with medical oversight in a private residential setting rather than a crowded ward.
Explore mental health care03
Exhaustion, executive overload and chronic stress, treated as clinical work. Rest is part of the plan. It is not the whole plan.
Explore restorationPhilosophy
Les Mariannes is a licensed medical rehabilitation facility in the hills of Congomah. Care is physician-led, one-to-one by default, and small enough that a stay is not a corridor of group timetables.
Complementary therapies may sit inside a medical plan. They do not replace it. We do not publish package prices, success rates, or guaranteed outcomes.
The method
A whole-person frame for residential recovery. Each stay uses the parts that are clinically indicated, not a spa menu of extras.
01
Physician-led assessment, nursing, medication review and medically supervised detoxification when it is needed.
02
Individual psychotherapy, psychiatry where indicated, and trauma-informed work at a pace the person can bear.
03
Sleep, nutrition, movement and physical recovery, so the nervous system is not asked to heal on empty.
04
Yoga, meditation, breath and quiet complementary therapies that support, rather than replace, clinical care.
05
Work, family, meaning and the relationships that will meet the person after they leave.
06
Review during the stay, discharge planning, and aftercare so the week after leaving is not a cliff edge.
Founder
Dr Siddick Maudarbocus is Clinical Director of Les Mariannes. Qualified in Dublin and trained in London, he has spent more than 40 years in medicine. His own fourteen-year journey through addiction and recovery still shapes how this centre meets people: without humiliation, and without pretending that insight alone is treatment.
He oversees assessment and programme design with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, counsellors and complementary practitioners.
What we treat
Each page is written for a human situation, then assessed clinically. If you are unsure which one fits, start with a conversation.
Alcohol dependence is rarely only about drinking. It is often about sleep, mood, stress, family, and what alcohol has come to do in a life.
Read moreDrug dependence can involve street drugs, prescribed medicines used unsafely, or a pattern that has outgrown the original reason it began.
Read moreDepression can look like exhaustion, irritability, numbness or a quiet disappearance from one's own life. It is not a failure of character.
Read moreAnxiety can be a useful alarm. When it becomes the whole house, sleep, work and relationships start to organise around avoiding the next wave.
Read moreTrauma is not only a memory. It can live in sleep, startle, relationships, and the substances people use to keep the night quiet.
Read moreBurnout is what happens when a person has kept going for too long, with too little recovery, until the body and mind refuse the old pace.
Read moreHigh responsibility can hide depletion for years. Decision fatigue, travel, alcohol, and the inability to stop thinking are not personality. They are a clinical picture.
Read moreAddiction and mental health often arrive together. Treating only the substance, or only the mood, leaves the other half of the problem waiting at the door.

Typical ranges help families plan. They are not packages you pick from a menu, and they are not priced on this website.
7-14 days
A short residential period to assess, stabilise and interrupt a pattern. Useful when outpatient care is not enough and a longer stay is not yet clear.
21-28 days
Enough time for medical review, a body of individual therapy, sleep restoration and a first aftercare plan. This is a typical core period, not a product.
4+ weeks
When trauma, dual diagnosis or long-standing dependence need more than a month. Length is a clinical recommendation after assessment.
These ranges are guidance for families, not packages. Nothing is priced or promised before a confidential clinical conversation.
The sanctuary
Les Mariannes is a licensed medical rehabilitation facility, not a hotel and not a hospital ward. Twenty-five ensuite rooms, therapy spaces, gardens, a restaurant, yoga and meditation areas, fitness and hydrotherapy sit on a private estate in Congomah.

Why Mauritius
Mauritius is not read as a public rehab destination. A stable island, straightforward international access, and a hilltop centre away from the tourist circuit give families privacy without theatre.
English, French and Arabic are spoken on site. Distance from usual triggers is part of the clinical setting, not a holiday backdrop.
International clients
From a first confidential conversation to return and aftercare. Travel is coordinated only after we agree that a stay is appropriate.
A private call, WhatsApp or written enquiry from anywhere. Share as little or as much as you wish.
We review history, medication and whether a residential stay in Mauritius is appropriate before anyone books a flight.
Airport coordination can be arranged. The first day is intake, rest and orientation, not a packed timetable.
A personalised residential plan: medicine, therapy, daily rhythm and complementary support where it helps.
Discharge includes a realistic next step at home, including remote follow-up and family communication where consented.
High-functioning distress
Many guests are still working, parenting and appearing composed. Alcohol, stimulants, exhaustion or anxiety can sit beside a demanding career for years. Waiting for rock bottom is not a treatment strategy.
Confidentiality is part of how this centre is designed: a small census, ensuite rooms, and a location that is not a public rehab address.
Families
The first conversation may be with a spouse, parent, adult child, sibling, friend or doctor. You do not need the person to complete a form before you ask for guidance.
We will listen, help you think about whether residential care is even the right next step, and talk through how to raise it, if that is useful.
