Alcohol and other substances
People whose drinking or drug use has become difficult to stop, including prescription medicines used beyond medical advice.
Programme
Alcohol, substances and behavioural addictions, with assessment, medical oversight, therapy, family support and aftercare.
Addiction is often a response to pain, not a lack of character. At Les Mariannes, residential recovery is physician-led and private. We treat alcohol dependence, other substance use, and selected behavioural addictions in a small licensed centre in Mauritius.
The work usually combines medical oversight, individual therapy and a calm daily rhythm. Complementary therapies may be included as support. We do not promise a cure, a success rate, or that every person is suitable for residential care.
Who it may help
People whose drinking or drug use has become difficult to stop, including prescription medicines used beyond medical advice.
Gambling and other compulsive patterns, assessed case by case rather than listed as a guarantee of treatment.
Relatives who need a discreet conversation about whether residential care is appropriate, and how to talk about it.
Addiction that sits alongside anxiety, depression or trauma. These are assessed together, not in isolation.
A confidential conversation with the clinical team is the safest way to find out. We will not pressure you to admit.
How we work
Medical, psychological and practical review before a plan is agreed.
Detoxification when needed, with 24-hour clinical cover in a licensed facility.
Individual counselling as the default. Group work only when it helps the person.
Guidance for relatives, and family sessions when everyone agrees they are useful.
A plan for the weeks after discharge, which may include remote follow-up.
Movement, nutrition, acupuncture or massage may sit inside the clinical plan.
A possible rhythm
Days are adapted after assessment. This is an illustration of how medical care, therapy and restorative time can sit together.
Stay
Many guests stay several weeks. Some need a shorter medically supervised period, others a longer residential phase. Length of stay is decided after clinical assessment, not sold as a fixed package.
Guests stay in ensuite rooms. Meals are prepared on site and can be adapted. Therapy may take place in consulting rooms or, when it helps, more privately. Complementary therapies such as yoga, massage or acupuncture are offered as support within the clinical plan.
Questions
No. Cost depends on clinical needs and length of stay. We discuss this privately after assessment.
No. Some guests need medically supervised detoxification. Others begin therapy without it. That decision is clinical.
Not unless you choose to tell them. Registration and rooms are private.
Begin here
Whether you are exploring care for yourself or for someone you love, the first step is a private discussion. There is no obligation, and nothing is priced before that conversation.
